Derya Var is a Turkish artist living in Izmir, she was born in 1964  and  graduated from Izmir 9 Eylul  University  . She has been painting since her childhood and her paintings are in oil painting theme is mostly about  sufism & whirling derwishes since she believes that culturel diversities are our biggest wealth to develope tolerance,peace and love. Artist likes to feel the discipline of the movements in sema rituels while she is painting. Expression of hands & faces give a spiritual happiness to her soul. Beside using contrast shadow and lights together, red colour is pushing power on her  artworks. She attended many  national & international exibitions, art shows and most of her paintings are in museums & private collections such as Tunisia, Greece, Canada, Croatia, Japan, China
